About Michael Martin
Michael Martin’s introduction to telecommunications sales started more than two decades ago when he sold internet and phone service to SMBs for Deltacom in Florida. He joined Cable & Wireless and gained experience in the sale, design and implementation of complex data networks before moving to US LEC (now Windstream), where he worked with large multi-location companies. He also worked at PAETEC (now Windstream) as a senior account executive.
Michael managed major accounts for Authentium, where he assisted telecom carriers in developing a desktop as a service (DaaS) model using Authentium’s cloud-based software as a service (SaaS).
In 2009, he co-founded Florida-based teXium, where he led all sales and marketing initiatives for the telecom agency. His efforts and knowledge of technology options for clients across multiple industries led teXium to grow exponentially year over year.
Michael Martin and co-founder Michael Scharf partnered with UPSTACK as a Partner and Managing Director to continue to support customers with the best service and solutions of voice and data networking, VoIP communications, security, and cloud computing solutions tailored to their needs.
One of their most successful deployments was with a global manufacturing company. They were to be spun off from a large parent organization as a standalone company and were required to purchase new technology including infrastructure, network, equipment, and more. They were able to source and deliver all of the solutions which impacted 14 global manufacturing locations, 6,500 employees, and three engineering centers. The CIO was so pleased with their top-notch service and noted that it was the best technology deployment he had ever worked with based on the scope and time frame.
Michael is based in Florida, and in his leisure time, he enjoys reading, golfing, and relaxing with his family at their farm in North Carolina.
